| The main entrance door of the fort still stands in a good condition. On entering the main doorway we can see a cave on the right hand side. We have to go via this route only to reach the fort top. On reaching the fort top we can see a small pond towards southern side of the fort. There are many dilapidated structures of mansion by the side of this pond. There is a bastion at the western end of the fort. Also a cistern is located near this bastion. Half-an hour is sufficient to wander over the fort top. Kalsubai range, Trimbak range, Tringalwadi are some of the sightseeing points around the fort from over the fort-top. |
| Ways To Reach : |
From Igatpuri or Ghoti board in a bus towards Upper Vaitarna and alight at Waki junction. From here a route towards right takes us to the base village,Kavnai. About after an hour of walking we reach the base village of this fort.
Kavnai fort lies to the right side of the base village. A snout of the hill lands in the base village. After half-an-hour of walk over this snout there is a right turn which leads us to a cleft. A simple rock-climbing from here will take us to the main doorway of the fort. It takes about an hour to reach upto the main doorway from the base village. |

| 4-5 people can be accommodated in the cave near the entrance door on the fort. |

| One has to make the food arrangement on its own. |
| Drinking Water Facility : |
| Drinking water is available in the cistern on the fort-top which may last upto the month of April. |

| About an hour is required from the base village, Kavnai to reach the fort-top. |
