Dundha, Karha, Bishtha, Ajmera are the smaller forts in Nashik district's Baglaan range. Not much is known on these forts from the historical records. As these forts stand away from the main mountain range they might have been used as a watch tower mainly to keep an eye over the surrounding region. Local villagers call this fort as Dundheshwar Maharaj’s mountain and a village fair is held here on every Monday of the Shravan month of lunar calendar.

Fascinating Spots :

There is a temple of Dundheshwar Maharaj at the base village. Route to the fort starts by this temple passing through a thick forest. A 10 minute trail takes us to stairs carved in rock which further leads to a temple of Lord Shiva under two huge trees. There is a small water tank behind the temple but the water is not potable.

Facing the temple, we can see the house of Ramdas Maharaj towards our right. A path passing through this house takes us to the water tanks. Just below the pathway there are two water tanks built in rock which have potable water. Moving further on this pathway one comes across a water tank after circumambulating half of the mountain. This water tank is of 10ft X 5ft in size mostly covered by green algae. The pathway ends here so one has to go back to the temple of Lord Shiva following the same route.

Facing the temple, towards our left there is another pathway which takes us to a water tank built in rock. As the path ends here we have to go back to the Shiva temple behind which another route takes us to the fort top from where we can see the surrounding area.
