   Following six locations are a part of Natural heritage list of UNESCO. Western Ghats was added in 2012 turning out to be a heart warming news for many of the trekkers of this magnificent mountain range :-
Kaziranga National Park in Assam (1985)
 Keoladeo National Park in Rajasthan (1985)
 Manas Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam (1985)
 Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks in Uttarakhand (1988)
 Sundarbans National Park in West Bengal (1987)
 Western Ghats in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala (2012)
