Sea Forts of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra is the land of forts. Of all the type of
forts it hosts, Sea forts hold its unique position. The maritime importance of
these forts is not just confined to the medieval era; the current era too can
utilize these monuments as centers of maritime surveillance on the traffic
reaching the coast of Maharashtra. The
incidence such as 26/11 has highlighted this point to an extent.

by the Portuguese, Siddis (Abyssinians) and also by the Marathas. These forts
have also witnessed the prowess of British army and the resistance poised by
the Marathas to protect their land. The architectural differences of these
forts can also be a matter of study and needs attention.
With a solemn aim of spreading the awareness of these
forts from historical point of view, TreKshitiZ has created calendars depicting
