Introduction

Plus valley is one of the best examples of wonderful creations by Mother Nature. Usually this trek is done in 2 days. Overnight stay can be done in Bhira village or Devkund waterfall. Also, Devkund waterfall can be visited from Bhira village in a single day. This region has water even in the peak of summers.

Points of Interest

Tamhini ghat which descends in the Konkan region from Pune is a beloved spot for many tourists. On this ghat there is a platform built for the visiting tourists. We have to descend from here in to the valley. The view from above gives a picture as if two valleys are intersecting each other creating + sign from where the valley has got its name.
As we start the descend there is loose soil. There are also big rocks in the descend which gives an impression of the Sandhan valley. Keep moving by keeping the rock wall to our right. We reach the valley in about 30 minutes time. This area is covered with many trees from where take a right to reach a small pond which has potable water.
Avoid taking the route of the stream and instead take the left from the pond to reach an edge. There is a 100 ft rock patch here which has to be rappelled with the use of proper safety and technical equipment. After crossing the last 20 feet overhang patch we land in the water stream area. A short snacks break can be taken here. Water shaped stones could be clearly visible here. There is another pond down here.
Further there is another such rappelling rock patch. If we see below from here a water pond can be visible which is the famous Devkund. To reach Devkund from here we have to rappel for 125-150 feet of which only the initial 50 feet provides a firm base of rock and the rest has to be done completely on rope technique. One can stay around the Devkund pond area except the rainy season. While moving alongside the water flow we come across Saptakund area which can also be used for overnight stay. This route adjoining Bhira dam takes us to Bhira village in the Raigad district of Konkan region in about 1 hrs 30 mins. Ghanagad Kundalika valley falls to the right on this route. Plus valley is located in Pune district.

Trek from Bhiran village to Devkund can be easily done till summers. The route is easy and could be done without a local guide.
