Introduction

Bow and Arrow is one of the oldest known weapons used for hunting and warfare, evidenced by cave paintings worldwide.

Historical Background

In the Stone Age, arrows were made from animal bones and sharp stones. The knowledge of archery is detailed in the Upaveda “Dhanurveda”. Bow and Arrow remained a primary battlefield weapon until the widespread use of firearms in the 18th century.
