| Adilshah built this fort on the banks of Chapora river. It’s construction was completed in 1617 and was named as Shahpura. This fort was with the rulers of Pernem and the Sawants of Sawantwadi for two years. The portuguese won this fort in 1717 and refurbished its structure. The importance of this fort declined after 1892. | |||

| There is a proper paved road built till the base of the fort after which a 10 minute trail leads us to the fort entrance facing south-east. The fort has three round shaped and four arrow shaped bastions and a structure in ruins which was earlier St.Anthony Church. There is also a capsule shaped bastion on the fort and in total there are four entrances to the fort. | |
