Fascinating Spots :

The place where Ulhas river takes an ‘S’ shaped course, the town of Dombivli is located to its South while Pimplas village to its North. This small fort or watch post is located on the hill in the village. It is also known as Kapridev by the locals. The path from the village takes us to the hill in 10 minutes. On the hill there is a monument of about 20 feet high. The roof is missing and looking at its structure it might have been originally a one storied building. Entering this building, in the corner which has a half circle arch, we can see vermilion covered stones which the locals refer to as Kapri dev. No other structures or remains are visible on the hill.
Ways To Reach :
Pimplas village is on the Thane – Kalyan (Mumbai – Agra) highway. It is 11 kms from Kalyan on the way to Thane while 15 kms from Thane on the way to Kalyan. There is a diversion for Pimplas village and a path from this village leads to the watch post or Kapri dev hill. On the way we cross by a statue of Mhatre Pehelwan, the famed wrestler from the village. The route to the watch post is further from this statue and passes through a dense vegetation.

Ferry boats can be taken from Reti bunder area of Dombivli west to reach Velha village across the river/creek. From Velha jetty, Pimplas village is about 3 kms. Another short route is via the Saat-Pool railway bridge which goes across the river on Diva-Vasai route. After crossing this bridge, the watch post is at 1 km distance. Both these routes do not go through Pimplas village. Just below the hill there is a cremation ground (Smashaan) and the route passes besides this.
