History :
      This fort was originally built by the Ratt dynasty. Later during the reign of Adilshah, commander Asad Khan Lari built it by stones which gave the fort its current look. This fort has seen many rulers and 3 battles. First battle was fought between the Peshwas and the Nawab of Savnur. Second battle between the Peshwas and Tipu Sultan. Third battle between the armies of Bhivgad and Rajhansgad.
Fascinating Spots :

      The entrance of the fort is in Gomukhi type. As we enter the fort we can see a temple dedicated to Lord Siddheshwar. There is a water tank to the left of the temple. There are arches carved inside the tank. At present the tank remains covered with an iron net. There are remnants of a structure near the tank which might be of arms and ammunition storage area. There is another structure ahead with a basement room. Currently only the basement part remains intact. As we move ahead we come to the edge of the fort. we can circumnavigate the fort from here. After crossing two bastions, there is a secret doorway near the third bastion and stairs to access it. After this as we move ahead we come across a room which is in “L” shape. There is a well besides Siddheshwar temple and a water storage area. The entire fort area can be covered in 30 minutes.
Ways To Reach :
      Belgaum to Yelloor is 14 kms and Yelloor to Rajhansgad fort is 4 kms. With one’s own private vehicle the fort base can be reached easily.
